大了,也只是一個人民公僕,沒有什麼了不起,何必興師動眾搞這 一套。

習書記長期生活工作在北方,初到廣東時,特別不適應酷暑。 到了夏天,熱得

大汗淋潟。那時省委只有常委會議室裝有空調,他 的辦公室及住處只有風扇,酷

熱難耐。澳門知名愛國人士、澳門中 華總商會會長馬萬祺先生見此情景,主動給廣

東省委送了3台宏調 指名給習書記1台。省委辦公廳接待處通知我去領取。我以

為習書 記定能接受馬先生的好意,誰知他堅決不接受,當即叫我原封不動 地送國

1978年秋,習書記在廣州開完幹部會以後,隨即到粵東地區搞 調查研究。開

始每到-縣,都有縣委書記、縣長“一班人”遠遠地 來迎接,最後離開時,原班人馬

又遠送出境,這好像成了一種約定 俗成的禮儀,很多人自覺或者不自覺地都接受

了。習書記對此卻非 常反感,認為這是勞民傷財,脫離群眾,影響不好,便帶頭制止

這 種做法。此後形成制度,每到一處,我都提前把習書記的要求通知 接待單位的

領導,禁止了各地興師動眾迎送領導的現象。

在廣東任職3年期間,習書記無論上下班、開會、下鄉,還是 參加外事活動,一

直坐的是一輛小面包車,省委給他配備的進口小 轎車,他堅決不坐。1979年春

,楊尚昆同志到廣東任省委第二書記, 也同他一樣坐小面包車。兩位老革命在領

導幹部用車問題上提倡艱 苦樸素,給廣大干部做出了榜樣,至今仍被人們傳頌和

讚揚。

廣東省與澳大利亞新南威爾士州結為友好省州。應新南威爾士 州政府總理

的邀請,習書記率廣東省友好代表團於1979年11月出 訪,返回時,途經香港參觀

訪問。按當時政策規定,每人可免稅帶 -“大件”家用電器。如彩電、電冰箱之類,因

為價格比內地便宜 很多,出國人員都競相購買。但是習書記在香港定了一條紀律,

明 確要求大家回去時,帶頭不買,不帶任何“大件”家用電器。 同志 們都自覺遵

守,以致從香港乘火車回到廣州車站下車時,迎接代表

習書記一生嚴於律己。寬以待人,有口皆碑。

習書記一言一行,很注意政治影響,對自己、對親屬、對身邊 的工作人員要求

極嚴。

1958年春天,習書記和周恩來總理、彭德懷副總理一起去河南 三門峽。召集

豫、陝、晉三省領導人開會。研究三門峽水庫壩高問題。 須知庫壩的高低決定水

庫的容量,關係到河南省特別是陝西省被水 所淹面積大小及大批移民的安置。事

關重大。因此,周總理決定親 臨現場召集這次會議。我作為隨從人員前往。有幸近

距離目睹一代 偉人周恩來總理的風采,也有幸親眼看到了彭老總那憂國憂民的肅

穆神情。 -

我隨同習書記、周總理乘坐一架小型飛機從北京飛往鄭州。這是我第一次坐

飛機。那一天,風和日麗,萬里無雲。我有點興奮。甚至有些激動。周總理平易近人


,在飛機上同習書記不時地看地圖、 研究工作。我和總理的秘書李岩就站在周總理

和習書記的旁邊。隨 同的新華社記者眼疾手快。拍下了這個珍貴的歷史性場景。

飛機到達鄭州以後,我們換乘火車到達三門峽。這時彭老總已 經先期到達。一

見面。彭老總給我的印象是不苟言笑。一臉嚴肅。 總是鄒波著眉頭在思考問題。

我想,也許是當時出現的種種問題使他 高興不起來吧 ....................

會後。周總理、彭老總、習書記一行到陝縣、偃師縣考察座談。 接見幹部和

群眾。豫、陝、晉三省是習書記長期戰鬥和工作過的地方。 因而情況熟悉,熟人很

多。可在考察中,他始終走在周總理和彭老 總的身後,有意避開記者鏡頭,不讓在

報導中突出自己。

習書記歷來討厭擺譜, 反對搞形式主義。兒次出國訪問,或是 下基層調查研

究, 既不帶警衛員,也不帶醫生和護士,只帶必要的
